The Foster family's reputation for fine reliable auto service began in 1949 when brothers Elwood and Fred Foster opened a full-service Esso/Exxon Service Station on the corner of Route 40 and Rogers Road in North East.  The Esso/Exxon Station served Cecil County for 33 years.

In 1986 Elwood's son Steve and his wife Cindy, opened "Foster's Auto Service" at the end of Rogers Road and Route 272.  For over 21 years Foster's Auto Service has been providing quality service.  In 2005 through 2007 Foster's was voted #1 Auto Repair by the readers of the Cecil Whig and has been named one of Cecil County's best for the past 6 years.
